What data are you collecting?
We collect identifying data such as your IP address, user agent (information about your web browser), requested pages, and when pages are requested for our own path analysis and metrics. Keeping this data allows us to determine which parts of the site are working, how many visitors we are getting, and how our site is being used. We are currently using Google Analytics to collect this data. This data is not shared with parties other than Google.
What are cookies and how do you use them?
If you are wondering what Cookies are (besides the delicious white chocolate macadamia nut kind you get at the bakery), here is a brief explanation. Have you ever wondered how the ads that pop up always seem to be stuff you want? Or how that awesome sweater you wanted is still in the shopping cart of the website you visited last week? There is no magic going on (well, okay, maybe a little magic, but it’s technology magic). Each time you visit a website, the website leaves a tiny little crumb (think of a cookie crumb) of data on your computer to tell the website that you were there. Those little crumbs are called Cookies, and each time you get one from a site, that site can use it to remember you for their advertising. Google Analytics uses several cookie values to best determine how to create a personalized experience for users, including offering ads that are selected just for you. Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to websites. If you are uncomfortable with the use of cookies, you can always opt out of their use. Visit Ads Settings or
www.aboutads.info to opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies.
